Morgayne
As a secondary main character, Morgayne is friends/coworkers with Zoiah and Kallistê. She is comedic relief, yet the deeper parts of her being often go unspoken and unnoticed.

Morgayne is an assassin along with Zoiah and Kallistê, and though she breaks tension with jokes and presents a front of having no ability to remain serious, she is actually a person filled with deeper thoughts that often leave her questioning who she is and what her path is. She is like many people who hide their insecurities, questions, and intelligence behind a mask of humor and nonchalance. Because in actuality, everything about Morgayne comes back to what and who she remembers, what her identity is, and how those things influence one another -- and: what does that mean for her?

She feels a connection to the sea, to water -- and not just because her magic has an affinity for those things -- but because she feels there is something calling to her from out there, a memory she can't quite reach or comprehend. She often has dreams of staring up at the sun from the bottom of an open ocean, yet can't recall why. That is why I included the imagery of water across the page, including the teal-colored translucent paper at the top right and bottom left corners, as well as the nautical symbology in the center.

Along with these dreams she has, she also feels a pull, or a call, coming to her from the moon and stars, which is why I included those pieces as well. That, plus her being drawn to the water, is a mystery of her identity that she is desperately trying to solve. The reason why Morgayne knows there is more to her life than she remembers is because of a letter she keeps secret and sacred. Though she is unsure of the sender, she recognizes the handwriting. This is why I included the handwriting in the background, along with the image of a hand holding out a folded letter.
Lastly, I put a picture of chamomile because it represents inner peace. They are connected to the idea of dreams coming true or being fulfilled, and in some cultures, chamomile is believed to be connected to the sun, moon, and stars. It is a nostalgic drink for Morgayne, and I would not put it past her to be aware of its spiritual and metaphysical properties, and implement that kind of belief into her life.
