Rhiannon
A secondary main character, Rhiannon is a princess of a kingdom on the verge of war. Her goal is to maintain peace while struggling to balance her desire for her country's freedom.

Rhiannon is a princess and a secret revolutionary, seeking to oust her autocratic father from the throne before he takes their country down a dangerous, unsalvageable path. Her country is anticipating the beginning of a war with Maewyn's nation, and after growing up under her father's thumb, Rhiannon has had time to plan. Her ideology is oppositional to her father's, hence the "no one but ourselves can degrade us," meaning she does not tolerate oppression or heavy-handed tactics for control.

From the moment I began creating Rhiannon as a character, I imagined her colors to be purple and gold. I envisioned that she would tie threads of gold through her hair to show solidarity with her nation. The piece of black, purple, and red flowers in the top right corner are to signify her close relationship with her younger sister.

Rhiannon sees herself as the key to her nation's survival and freedom, and is the leader of a quiet, yet growing resistance built by commoners and citizens. Her country is on the verge of collapse; her patriotism and love of her people are the final things standing between invasion, war, and suffering, and freedom, peace, and prosperity. That is why I added the flower losing its petals in the center: as long as Rhiannon's father remains in power, her country and her people are in danger. However, she does not give up hope or let go of her determination, and in doing so, she learns how to harness the power, strength, and magic she never knew she had. This strength is symbolized by the purple, which is why it is spread across the page.
